Road Safe NI and CRASH Services Celebrate Road Safety Excellence
Northern Ireland’s road safety champions were recognised and celebrated at the Northern Ireland Road Safety Awards 2024, which honoured individuals, organisations and innovative projects working to improve road safety across local communities.
Now in their tenth year, the awards are organised by Road Safe NI in partnership with headline sponsor CRASH Services, Northern Ireland’s leading accident management company.
The annual awards recognise excellence in road safety education, awareness, community engagement and collision prevention across the voluntary, education, emergency services, public and private sectors.
Celebrating Road Safety Excellence Across Northern Ireland
More than 100 invited guests attended the prestigious awards ceremony, held at Belfast Castle on Friday 15 November 2024.
A total of 12 awards were presented to individuals and organisations making a significant contribution to improving road safety and protecting road users throughout Northern Ireland.
One of the event’s highest honours, the Lifetime Achievement Award, was presented to Constable Stephen Dickson from the PSNI Collision Investigation Unit by Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd MLA in recognition of his exceptional dedication to road safety.
Record Number of Entries Received
Speaking following the awards, Davy Jackson of Road Safe NI said:
“We had a fantastic response to the awards again, with a record number of entries. We are delighted to play our part in recognising those who go the extra mile to promote road safety.
The winning entries really stood out for their commitment over a long period of time and for delivering innovative projects. There is so much good work going on across our schools, local communities, emergency services and businesses.
