To mark 30 years of operation, Northern Ireland’s leading accident management company, CRASH Services, has opened a new 6,579 sq ft operational hub in Mallusk. This £500,000 investment supports the company’s fleet of over 630 vehicles and reinforces its commitment to rapid accident recovery and sustainable, efficient customer service across Northern Ireland.

Expanding Capacity for Northern Ireland Motorists

The new Mallusk facility is a strategic development designed to enhance turnaround times for drivers following a road traffic collision. Located on a 1.7-acre site, the hub serves as a central nerve center for CRASH Services’ expanding fleet.

Key features of the new facility include:

  • Enhanced Turnaround: Purpose-built wash bays and professional valeting facilities ensure vehicles are ready for customers faster.

  • Sustainability Commitment: A dedicated water recycling system minimizes consumption, aligning with the company’s environmental goals.

  • EV Infrastructure: On-site charging stations support up to six electric or hybrid vehicles simultaneously, future-proofing the CRASH fleet.

Founded in 1996 by local businessman Michael McKeown, and led since 2015 by his son Jonathan McKeown, CRASH has grown to become Northern Ireland’s leading accident management company. With offices in Belfast, Newry, Derry~Londonderry and Mallusk, the business provides motorists with a complete one‑stop service after a collision, from recovery and repairs to replacement vehicles, insurance assistance, legal support and medical services.

Demand for CRASH’s services has increased significantly over the last three decades. Non‑fault case numbers have risen by more than 200% since 2000, and the company has now supported over 150,000 motorists across Northern Ireland. Employee numbers have also grown by 50% over the past five years, with the team expected to reach 140 staff in 2026.

Jonathan McKeown, CEO of CRASH Services, said: “Reaching 30 years in business is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. This investment in Mallusk reflects the scale of our growth and the continued trust motorists place in us. What began as a small family business has grown into a sector leader, and that’s down to the dedication of our team and the strong partnerships we’ve built over the years.”

CRASH’s commitment to customer care remains central to the business. Over the past 12 months, 99% of customers who returned surveys said they would recommend CRASH, while the company continues to maintain ISO 9001 certification across all sites, marking 16 consecutive years of meeting recognised quality standards.

A Focus on Staff Wellbeing and Quality

The business was also one of the first employers in Northern Ireland to introduce a four‑day working week with no loss of pay. Since 2020, staff hours have reduced from 35 to 28 per week, supporting wellbeing while maintaining productivity and service levels.

Jonathan added: “Our goal has always been simple, to take the hassle away for motorists after a collision. We act with care, we act quickly, and we act in the customer’s best interests. As we look ahead, we’ll continue investing in our people, our fleet and our facilities to ensure we remain best in class.”
