New Driver NI and Road Safe NI Join Forces to Educate Young Drivers
CRASH Services, Northern Ireland’s leading accident management company, is delighted to continue its support of New Driver NI, helping to educate young drivers and passengers across Northern Ireland on the importance of making safe decisions on the road.
This year, New Driver NI has announced an exciting new partnership with Road Safe NI Charity to deliver its award-winning road safety presentations to schools throughout Northern Ireland for the new academic year.
The partnership was officially launched at Lumen Christi College, Derry/Londonderry, and aims to further enhance road safety education for young people as they prepare to start driving or become independent road users.
Promoting Safer Driving Choices Among Young People
The New Driver NI programme visits schools throughout Northern Ireland, delivering engaging and interactive presentations designed to educate students about the risks associated with driving and the importance of responsible road use.
Through real-life examples, practical advice and safety guidance, students are encouraged to make informed choices about their behaviour as drivers and passengers.
With support from Road Safe NI, the programme will reach even more young people and continue delivering important road safety messages across schools and colleges.
Free Road Safety Presentations for Schools
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and funding partners, all presentations are provided free of charge to schools across Northern Ireland.
Every participating student also receives a complimentary copy of the New Driver NI magazine, which contains valuable information and practical guidance on:
- Learning to drive
- Road safety awareness
- Safe driving habits
- Driver responsibility
- Passenger safety
- Motoring advice for young people
New Driver Pledge Offers Students the Chance to Win £2,000
Students taking part in the programme are invited to sign the New Driver Pledge, an initiative supported by Road Safe NI, CRASH Services and JMK Solicitors.
The pledge encourages young people to commit to five key road safety principles:
- Respect the Speed Limit
- No Mobile While Mobile
- Never Drive When Tired
- Not a Drop, Not a Drag
- Belt Up, Front & Back
Students who sign the pledge have the opportunity to win up to £2,000 in cash prizes.
Celebrating 10 Years of New Driver NI
Stephen Savage from New Driver NI said:
“As we celebrate our tenth year, we are delighted that the New Driver NI program continues to expand, with positive feedback received every year from students, teachers, and schools. The partnership with Road Safe NI Charity launched today, is a crucial component in helping to reinforce our commitment to educating young drivers and road users across Northern Ireland.”
Road Safe NI Aims to Reach More Young Drivers
Davy Jackson from Road Safe NI added:
“We are excited to partner with New Driver NI this year to help educate young drivers and passengers. With too many young people still being seriously injured or losing their lives on Northern Ireland’s roads, it’s crucial we play our part in educating our young people to help them make safer choices on the roads. Our goal this year is to collect 10,000 safe motoring pledges, offering students a chance to win £2,000 in cash prizes for their participation.”
