The YPAD Project was developed by the Policing and Community Safety Partnership in what is now the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area and raises awareness of the potential impact of unsafe in-car behaviour with young people who are passengers of young and often inexperienced drivers, as well as drivers themselves.

The YPAD project provides 16-18 year olds with an interactive experience supported by a specially commissioned and hard-hitting film which is scripted by and features local young people as well as being filmed locally. Project delivery is via a multi-agency partnership of public and private sector bodies, incorporating a cross-border element and co-ordinated via the local Policing and Community Safety Partnership. To date, over 1500 young people have benefitted from the YPAD workshops and the proven template is being made available to other PSCPs to deliver in their area.
