Charity of the year
Staff from CRASH Services have chosen to support Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI) as their 2019 charity of the year. Staff visited the AANI base on 12th February to launch the partnership and find out more about the charity.
Jonathan McKeown, CEO of CRASH Services said “Each year our staff nominate a charity to support and we are delighted to launch our charity partnership for 2019 with AANI.
“AANI is making a huge difference to people’s lives across Northern Ireland and we are really looking forward a range of fundraising events throughout the year to support this work. Some staff members have already signed up for the Deep RiverRock Belfast Marathon and planning for our ‘Night at the Races’ is well under way.”
CRASH Services is one of the largest independent Accident Management Companies in Northern Ireland. Since the business was founded in 1996, they have assisted many thousands of local motorists following an accident.
Colleen Milligan Area Fundraising Manager for AANI said “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen by CRASH Services as their charity partner for 2019. Since our first deployment in July 2017 AANI has been tasked 711 times. Each day we need to raise £5,500 to keep this service going so partnerships like this are so important. We are really looking forward to working with staff at both companies to raise funds and awareness throughout 2019.”
About Air Ambulance Northern Ireland
AANI is a local charity that provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland, together with our partners at the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS). The service brings urgent medical assistance to anywhere in the province, operating seven days a week for 12 hours per day. It can get to anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes.
This Doctor / Paramedic service benefits those whose lives are at serious risk following significant injury or trauma. Effectively the service brings emergency hospital care direct to the casualty.
AANI needs to raise £2million each year to maintain this service, so corporate partnerships and public donations are crucial. If you would like to donate, organise an event or could spare some time volunteering, please contact AANI by email at or call 028 9262 2677.
