Job Description

Key purpose of the job:

  • To investigate liability for all enquires received. To evaluate road traffic accident circumstances to assess the degree of risk in issuing an Insurance indemnity Policy. To assess if customers are entitled to further credit after hires have reached a period of over 25 days.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • To investigate circumstances of Road Traffic Accidents with a view of deciding on liability
  • Introduce client if requires to a Local Accident Specialist in order to assist in determination of liability
  • To authorise provision of an indemnity policy for all Non Fault Accidents and split liability cases.
  • To pass the case to a suitably experienced claims handler who will deal with the case once liability is established,
  • To maintain records of all cases investigated and decisions made on liability,
  • To monitor hires over 25 days and re-investigate claims where liability is still an issue,
  • To re-monitor hires over 35 days and re-investigate claims where liability is still an issue,
  • To refer all hires over 50 days to Claims Manager and Managing Director and Finance Director,
  • Monitor and review Not Taken on Yet cases,
  • Provide sound advice to clients regarding their options and duty to mitigate loss,
  • Ensure prompt response to client and claims handlers requests,
  • Effectively liaise with all parties involved in the claim process,
  • Ensure that all necessary case handling tasks are completed before leaving the office on a given day,
  • Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise,
  • Provide timely and effective feedback to management and other staff
